We made it to Madrid safe and sound (after a very turbulent flight – cue more grey hair!). The following pictures are from Mr. N and Miss A’s perspectives (or were directed by Mr. N and Miss A), and were selected by them for this post. The kids LOVE Madrid.
We’ll be back in a few days with our recap of Madrid and some Spanish tapas! Thank you all for the well wishes and safe travels. So far, so good. Cheers!
Happy that you arrived safe and sound. From the kids photos, I can see you are all enjoying the first stop of many.

Fabulous photos! So sorry about the turbulent flight. That makes me queasy just to think about it! Love seeing all the smiles. That you have any time for blogging is impressive, Kristy! We’ll be eager to hear anything you have time to share, though, that’s for sure. 🙂

Love, love, LOVE Miss A’s boots, she really rocks them!
I’m speechless at the quality of the composition of the photos, it’s difficult to believe that kids took them. You’ve got yourselves talented children for sure!

Miss is more into shoes than I am (I started her too early I’m afraid – ha)! The kids do a great job with their pictures. I’m always impressed too. And I love to see what they shot and compare them with mine. The different perspectives are fun to observe. 🙂

At 14 I had 42 pairs of shoes. You’re in trouble!

Oh no! Indeed I am! (Perhaps it will work to my benefit if we wear the same size though.) 😉

Have a great time! We are currently in Spain for the winter as well. LOVE the pictures through the kids eyes.. our young 4 year old just got a Vtech Kidizoom Duo Digital Camera for Christmas and we are LOVING the pictures he takes. Sorry I haven’t read through your blog yet, but am wondering what camera your kids are using? Enjoying the posts I have read so far. Thanks!

How fun! I’ll have to check out your blog as well. Spain is wonderful isn’t it! We’re in Andalucia now for the first time. It’s amazing. Miss A uses a Canon Power Shot A1200 with a 5-20 mm 1:2.8-5.9 zoom lens. Mr. N got a Canon EOS Rebel T5 EF-S 18-55 mm for Christmas this year. So far he’s doing great with it! 🙂

Hi Mandy! Madrid was usually about 45-60 degees F while we were there. It was a little chilly, but much, much warmer than home, so we were very happy! 🙂

I HATE turbulence!
The funny thing is that instead of having your life flash infront of your eyes as they say in the movies. I get flashes of every movie with airplane crash that I have ever seen!
Crazy! I know lol
Loved the pictures , from your smiles it looks like an amazing place. I do hope I’ll get a chance to visit it some day

OMG! You’ll have an unreal time! I just have to look at Miss A’s funfulled face at those photos . . .and Madrid is NOT the easiest place in Europe to which to accustom one’s children!! My two daughters arrived at about same age after ‘experiences’ in the Pacific and Japan [write from Australia] . . . . fell in life’time love with Italy, Bavaria and Denmark . . .don’t quite remember your routing!! Oh, DO have fun tho’ you have to pile on the layers!!! [Hate flying!!!!]

Definitely having an unreal time! We hope to make it through Bavaria and will be in Italy toward the end of the adventure, but unfortunately I don’t know that we’ll make Denmark on this trip. There’s just so much to see here! We also hope to make it to Japan and Australia someday too! 🙂

Oh, I HATE turbulence. I tell you, I don’t take it as a man, I take it as a scary mouse… you don’t need to tell the kids that, of course, let it be a little secret… because of course I am a bit ashamed to admit it
glad you are enjoying Madrid… one place I’d like to visit….
keep the posts coming, even if they have to be short, I will love each one!

Me too Sally. I don’t mind the occasional bump, but dips and bopping side to side…I was near hyperventilation. Fortunately the kids were to engrossed in their iPads to notice. And you would LOVE Madrid!!! It’s fabulous.

Thanks Norma. It’s strange to be so far from home. The posts help us feel connected – and the kids loved having “photojournalism time” as part of their schooling. 😉

Warmer than home! It’s been about 50 most days. I’m dressing in layers. Mike and the kids prefer coats to layers. You know me though – I prefer no coat!
